How are digital marketing services priced?

Selecting the right agency to help promote your charity online can be challenging. You may come across agencies with sleek websites and enticing portfolios, but how do you know if they’re right for your cause, and how much will they charge?

Generally, digital marketing agencies charge between £30 and £120 per hour, depending on the complexity of the work and the expertise required. These rates reflect the skills and experience of agency staff, who bring knowledge from working with a variety of clients, including nonprofits and charities.

Initial setup often requires a larger investment of time and resources, as it involves laying the foundation for a successful campaign. Following that, agencies will typically charge a recurring fee based on the amount of time needed to manage various channels—whether it’s Facebook, Google Ads, or email marketing—on a weekly or monthly basis.

      Are there additional costs?

Yes, for paid advertising campaigns, there will be additional costs. Beyond what an agency charges, you’ll need to pay the platform (such as Facebook or Google) for ad placements (unless you’re using the Google Grant). While it might seem like a lot to pay both the agency and the platform, paid advertising can be one of the fastest ways to drive awareness of your cause.

Will I see a return on investment (ROI)?

The goal of digital marketing is to ensure that your charity covers all its marketing costs and generates a positive return. Agencies aim to deliver not just exposure but tangible results in terms of donations and awareness.

While digital marketing has become more competitive in recent years due to the increasing number of users on these platforms, charities can still see excellent returns on their investments.
