Digital Marketing Case Study:
GM Ringway
A Google Grants campaign and YouTube pre-roll ads to promote the GM Ringway in the Greater Manchester area.

What is the GM Ringway?
The GM Ringway project has been led by two charities, the countryside charity CPRE and the walking charity The Ramblers.
A £250,000 National Lottery Heritage Fund grant has supported the project, alongside grants from Transport for Greater Manchester and Ramblers Holidays Charitable Trust.
What did they need?
GM Ringway were looking for a partner agency to run a series of digital marketing campaigns to promote the walking trail to people in the Greater Manchester area.
The campaign’s objectives are to raise awareness of the trail in general, promote the GoJauntly app, which has some designated walking routes on the trail, and promote the trail to diverse audiences.
How is Wecanhelp.digital helping?
Wecanhelp.digital set up a Google Grants campaign to target people searching for walking and hiking based keywords in the Greater Manchester areas.
We also set up video campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, in both feed and story format.
Finally, we created a video based Youtube pre-roll campaign, allowing for the trail to be advertised to people who were watching Youtube videos.
How is it performing?
The campaign is currently ongoing. The Google Grants campaign is building momentum and has stayed at an average CTR of 9%, considerably higher than the account health recommendation of 5%.
There has also been some excellent interaction with the social media adverts, with a considerable amount of, shares, video views and comments.
The YouTube video view level is also high, with 75% of people watching until the end.
What’s next?
The next iteration of the campaign is to promote the walking trails on the GoJauntly App.
